Primary Key Stage 1 & Lower Key Stage 2

Our programmes for Key Stage One and Lower Key Stage Two are in alignment with the British National Curriculum. Our curriculum is comprehensive and well-rounded, aiming to provide an exciting and stimulating educational experience. We place significant emphasis on monitoring the progress of each child, with the goal of ensuring that they achieve their full potential.

Throughout Key Stage One and Lower Key Stage Two the class teacher takes the lead role in the majority of the subjects. Emphasis is placed on the core subjects of literacy, numeracy and science. In addition to these, the weekly timetable incorporates history; geography; creatives (encompassing art, food technology or design and technology); religious education; personal, social and health education (PSHE). Furthermore, the children are provided with specialist teachers for Physical Education, swimming, music, information technology, French and library studies.

Key Stage One encompasses Year One and Year Two, catering for children aged 5 - 7 whilst Years Three and Four (children aged 7 – 9) make up our Lower Key Stage Two department. The curriculum is carefully crafted to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become accomplished, independent learners and confident individuals.

At Baobab, children are placed in classes according to age and within the classes lessons are differentiated according to ability. To maintain a seamless learning process parents are regularly updated of their child’s progress during termly consultations and end-of-term reports.

Our curriculum is designed to be diverse and all-encompassing, offering a broad range of subjects, including those mentioned above. This includes participating in various class assemblies, events and trips, further enhancing their personal and social development.
