2008 CIE RESULTS

Baobab College, Zambia’s leading private school and Cambridge International Examination fellowship centre, wishes to congratulate the Students of 200/08 who sat external examinations helping us to achieve yet again outstanding results:

A level pass rate:                100%
AS level pass rate:                68%
IGCSE pass rate:                 100%

 

‘A’ Level

The students recorded a 100% pass rate for the third consecutive year.
The pass rate in the A to C bands was 66%.
Business Studies students recorded a 100% pass rate in the A to C bands for the fourth consecutive year.
History and Further Maths also recorded 100% pass rates in the A to C bands.
Literature in English recorded its best ever results.
The following pupils in particular are congratulated for their performances: Bowen Gao 2As & 2Bs; Eleni Lostrom 1A, 1B, 1C; Andrew Toms 1 B & 2Cs; Rowan Green 2Bs & 1C; Vihir Patel 1B, 2C, 1D; Akende M’membe 1B & 2C.


IGCSE Level

The students also recorded a 100% pass rate – 44 students passed a total of 280 exams.
The pass rate in the A* to C bands was 61%.
20 A* passes were achieved.  
Literature in English, Biology (100% A to C passes), and Physics achieved their best ever results.
Maths, English Language, Business Studies and Geography recorded their second best ever results.
The following pupils in particular are congratulated for their performances: Nahla Kaddoura 6A*s & 3Bs; Zahra Farag 2A*s, 5As & 2Bs; Prerana Joshi 2A*s, 4As, 2Bs & 1C; Ryan Ellis 1A*, 3As, 3Bs, 1C & 1E; Laura Dingle 2A*s, 1A, 4Bs, 2Cs; Khushboo Patel 4As, 3Bs, & 2Cs.


AS Level

Business Studies achieved a 100% pass rate in the A to C band for the third consecutive year.
Notable individual performances include Tafadziswa Museba with 3As and 1B and Ronish Joory with 2As and 1B.

 

In the ABRSM music exams 2008, students across Primary and Secondary achieved 100% pass rate again.

In the Barclays Bank Essay Competition, Baobab College students were awarded the top three places. Aishwarya Tiku gained first prize (and a cash prize], Raisa Ismail was second and Naseemah Pandor was third.

In the Royal Commonwealth Society Essay Competition 4 pupils gained top awards. Nicole Ford, Sepo Sitali, Divya Sukumar and Mohammed Pandor all gained awards which will be presented shortly.
