JAN LAMB took up the reins of Baobab College from August 2009. She comes to the school with an enormous amount of experience and expertise in Headship, in Independent education, in the British education system that the school follows and in Zambia schools, that will be of tremendous benefit. In her 26 years in education, she has not only been an inspirational English teacher but has also served as an A level examiner (four years), Head of Sixth Form (one year), Deputy Headmistress (six years) and Headmistress (three years). She has worked in schools in Zambia for eighteen years (at Nsansa School, ZCCM Ndola Trust School and Simba International School) and in schools and Further Education colleges in England for a further eight years and so is ideally equipped to take Baobab College forward. She is the holder of a Bachelor of Education (Hons.) 2:1 from the University of Warwick (England). She has first class management and organizational capabilities, with an emphasis on recruiting and developing teaching talent, taking full responsibility for the daily operations of the school, and marketing into feeder schools. She also has excellent interpersonal and communication skills which are employed in building sustainable relationships at pupil, parent, staff and Board levels. In addition she was appointed a Member of Northrise University Advisory Board in 2000, a US and Australian funded initiative to establish a self-sustaining university in Zambia. She is a Zambian, is married to a Zambian and has one son at Baobab College, her daughter being in further education overseas. Come and meet the lady yourself and see that the school is in good hands. |
