COLLEGE
News and Information Issue 14 2006/7 March 23rd
SECONDARY NEWS
This
term may only have been twelve weeks long,
very short in comparison to last term,
but it has been no less busy and action-packed. Since the last issue we have
hosted the second leg of the ISAZ Cross Country Championships with Baobab
coming third overall behind the powerhouses of Nakambala
and Lwengu. The Interhouse
event took place on Wednesday and the results can be found later in this
issue. Our Art students have also completed their first examination and will
begin the second on Monday. As this is the last issue of the term I would like
to close by wishing staff, students
and parents a peaceful and restful break. That is of course unless you are an
examination candidate in which case I urge you to have a productive break and
use the time wisely as you begin your final preparations for your
examinations. Regards Jon Turner Assistant Head of Secondary
PRIMARY NEWS
Once
again we are looking at the end of another term with so much achieved in a
relatively short term. Well done and many congratulations to those who
participated in the Performing Arts and Visual Arts festival. It was a huge
success and a day enjoyed by over 400 children across
Zambia. We have to say a
very sad farewell to Mrs. Williamson-Fairlie who
will join her husband in
Thailand. Mrs.
Williamson has been at the school for nearly ten years. I know she will go
away with very fond memories and we will all miss her dearly as one of our
longer serving members of staff. We thank Elli for all she has done in the
Primary school and boarding house. We are positive that Elli and Scott will
return one day but until that time we wish them every happiness and success in
their new jobs. We welcome back Mrs.Grove from her
maternity leave and Mrs. Helen Radford who will be teaching Year Five next
term. Thank you to those people who attended the Parent Consultations
yesterday afternoon. I hope that those parents who have children in the
boarding hostel would have made individual appointments to meet with their
class teachers. If reports have not been collected these must be claimed by 27th
March 2007.
Afternoon activity sign-up sheets have been circulated and by now everyone
should have signed up and returned their forms to class teachers. If there is
any reason why your child is unable to participate please put this in writing
to me. Thank you to the children who have worked so hard this term and had a
very productive term. I am also very indebted to the teaching staff
who fulfil an enormous responsibility in this
school and I wish them all a well rested holiday. Enjoy the three weeks
holiday and we look forward to seeing you all on 23rd
April. Best wishes,
Laura Stokes Head of Primary

as soon as possible if there are any errors on the statement. The statements
are for your records. They do not need to be presented at the exams. Any
clashes, where a candidate is due

ART DEPARTMENT NEWS
The
Art department were very grateful recipients of a donation of over thirty Art
books this week. The books give the history and pieces of several famous
artists and no doubt will prove inspirational to the budding young artists in
the school. A very big thank you goes to Mrs Jackie Brown for her generous
donation.
